It is fantastic. You just have to make sure your blocks are larger enough to make a full ball, yet small enough to fit between the guides. Several of mine came out with one flat side, but still look great. When used with clear ice, it's pure magic. It takes about 45 seconds. This one works with heat but will also work without it. You do need a drip tray under it, or you'll have water all over the counter. You also need to let it drain after use before putting it away. I found out when I noticed water dripping from the cabinet. I'm looking at purchasing an icosahedron mold but they run about $50. Still, the way this makes smooth ice balls it might just be worth it.
